Helicopter Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular California Coast
A chopper hovering over a crowded coastal shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally dropping height and crashing into a row of palm groves as spectators observed.
Videos posted online depict the helicopter starting to spin over Huntington Beach then descending towards the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders said five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” following the crash on Saturday.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
