NFL Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Wins Contest

Even with recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," Glenn commented following the game.
