Officials declared it consents to the negotiation framework to some extent, but has omitted reference to several crucial requirements - including its disarmament and future role in Gaza.
The Israeli leader said on recently that he hoped to announce the freeing of detained individuals "shortly"
Historical Framework
The discussions, which will see Middle Eastern officials conducting mediation with representatives from both the two sides in isolation, take place on the approach of the 24-month point of the armed assault on southern Israel on the initial attack date, in which about 1,200 people were fatally wounded and 251 people were taken hostage.
The Israeli military initiated operations in Gaza in retaliation. From that point, approximately 67,160 have been fatally injured by armed interventions in Gaza, according to the territory's medical administration.
Initiative Components
The detailed initiative, which has been approved by the Trump administration and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlines an immediate end to fighting and the release of 48 hostages, only a portion are considered surviving, in compensation of numerous of Palestinian prisoners.
The framework requires that once both sides approve the initiative "humanitarian support will be immediately sent into the Palestinian territory"
It also specifies that the organization would have no participation in governing Gaza, and it permits an independent Palestinian nation.
Recent Developments
Recently, officials replied to the initiative in a declaration, in which the group agreed "to free all captured individuals, both living and dead, according to the exchange formula contained in the US initiative" - if the required situation for the transfers are satisfied.
It did not specifically mention or accept Trump's 20-point plan but said it "restates its approval to transfer the administration of the conflict zone to a local administration of independents, established through local agreement and regional endorsement"
The statement failed to address of one of the key demands of the plan – that the organization consent to its weapons surrender and to ceasing political participation in the leadership of Gaza.
