Shocking Video Captures Instant Police Get Knifed in Ambush

Both Sergeants Instants Prior to the Aggressor Received Electric Shock

One police sergeant who rushed to the help of a partner that was assaulted by a knifeman was granted the Royal Recognition for Bravery.

Sgt Tim Ansell fought with 27-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he held a blade to the neck of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the officers and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist after a road collision in that location in July 2023.

Brown knifed and cut both Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster before PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a Taser.

"Policeman knifed," the constable could be heard saying over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera recording shared by the force showed Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a head covered, rush to Sgt Foster from the rear with a weapon outstretched.

He ran into the officer who tripped and went down to the street, before Sergeant Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground even though being repeatedly struck with the knife.

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a safe opportunity, ending the struggle to an end.

Sgt Ansell was heard stating: "Can I get help on my throat now, I got knifed in the throat."

Sgt Ansell received two deep cuts to his throat and further injuries to his arms and body, while Sergeant Foster received cut injuries.

Authorities stated Sergeant Foster employed his hands to stop his partner's hemorrhaging prior to emergency responders came.

The new recognition comes subsequent to the three officers were granted internal Valor Recognitions in fall 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the local Police Federation in April 2024.

They additionally received a North West Valor Recognition in mid-2024.

"The efforts of the entire team eventually saved each other and meant no members of the public suffered any harm."

Brown received a sentence to an indefinite hospital order in early 2024, according to authorities.
